Vertical cracks can occur in a bamboo fence. This is a natural property of bamboo and will happen to your bamboo fence as well. Bamboo shrinks or expands with changes in temperature and humidity. The cracking does not affect the life of the fence.
In manufacturing, they saw off the bamboo above the ''node'' (in English; bamboo nodes) making the top closed. There may be small holes in the nodes. We cannot guarantee that a fence is 100% waterproof. Any holes are easy to plug.
