The story behind Eviro Bamboo

Eviro Bamboe was born out of a passion for furniture. Over 25 years ago, Hendrik Wiegers ordered his first container of teak furniture from Indonesia for his furniture store Wiegers XL (www.wiegersxl.nl). What started as a small initiative grew into a well-known brand in the home furnishing industry, with a 2,500 m² showroom and a 5,000 m² warehouse full of options.

After handing over Wiegers XL, the entrepreneurial spirit kicked in again. The established contacts in Indonesia became the foundation for Eviro Bamboo, where our mission remains the same: making quality bamboo products affordable for everyone. And that’s what we’ll continue to do – now and in the future.

A Sustainable choice

Bamboo furniture and garden accessories are not only stylish but also an eco-friendly choice. Bamboo has several advantages over traditional wood:

• Fast growth – Bamboo grows incredibly fast and can be harvested within just a few years, without causing deforestation. With sustainable harvesting techniques, bamboo forests remain intact.
• High CO₂ absorption – Bamboo is a CO₂ powerhouse. A single hectare of bamboo can absorb up to 200 tons of CO₂ per year, compared to just 15 tons for a typical forest. This makes bamboo a strong ally in the fight against climate change.
